These Terms of Service govern access to and use of ventonium.com and associated subpages, content, and interactive features (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, visitors agree to these Terms and to the policies referenced here, including the Privacy Statement, Cookie Policy, and Copyright Policy.

1) Who we are

2) Purpose of the Site

• The Site provides information about Ventonium’s non‑profit mission, projects, events, volunteering, and collaboration opportunities. Content is for general information only and is not professional or legal advice.

3) Eligibility and acceptable use

• Use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

• Do not: disrupt or degrade the Site; bypass or probe security; upload malware; scrape personal data; use automated bots to collect content; infringe intellectual property or privacy; harass, defame, or otherwise harm others.

• Ventonium may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where misuse is detected.

4) Accounts, forms, and submissions

• Certain features may require providing information (e.g., contact forms, sign‑ups). Information must be accurate and kept current.

• User submissions (text, images, video, feedback) must be lawful and owned by the submitter. By submitting, the submitter grants Ventonium a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to use, reproduce, adapt, translate, publicly display/perform, distribute, and archive the submission in connection with our non‑profit mission and communications. Submitters retain ownership and can request future use to stop by contacting rights@ventonium.com; prior uses and materials already produced are unaffected.

• If identifiable individuals are depicted, the submitter confirms that necessary permissions or legal bases exist.

5) Events, volunteering, and safety

• Participation in events or volunteering is subject to event‑specific terms, codes of conduct, safety briefings, and eligibility criteria. Volunteers are covered by Belgian Volunteers Act requirements and Ventonium’s internal regulations and insurance policies as communicated during onboarding.

• On‑site instructions and reasonable requests from organizers must be followed.

6) Third‑party services and links

• The Site may integrate third‑party services (e.g., payment/ticketing, analytics, maps, video hosting, email tools). Their terms and privacy notices apply to those features. Ventonium is not responsible for external websites, their content, or availability.

7) Intellectual property

• Unless otherwise indicated, the Site and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by or licensed to Ventonium and are protected by copyright, database, and trademark laws.

• Limited personal, non‑commercial use is permitted. Any other use, including reproduction, distribution, adaptation, public display, or commercial exploitation, requires prior written permission. See the Copyright Policy for permitted uses and licensing.

• “Ventonium” and associated logos/visual identity are trademarks/trade dress of Ventonium VZW; do not use without written permission.

8) Privacy and cookies

• Personal data are processed in accordance with our GDPR and Privacy Statement, which explains purposes, legal bases, retention periods, recipients, and rights. Cookies and similar technologies are described in our Cookie Policy, with controls available through the cookie banner and Site footer.

9) Donations, registrations, and payments

• If the Site enables donations or paid registrations, terms, prices, currencies, and any refund conditions will be shown at checkout or in the relevant notice. Unless stated otherwise or required by law, donations are non‑refundable.

• Payments may be processed by third‑party providers under their terms and privacy notices.

10) Disclaimers

• The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” Ventonium does not guarantee continuous availability, error‑free content, or that the Site will be free from viruses or other harmful components.

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ventonium disclaims all warranties (express or implied), including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

11) Limitation of liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ventonium shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill; or business interruption arising from or related to Site use.

• Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (e.g., liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for intent or gross negligence).

12) Indemnification

• Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ventonium, its officers, and representatives from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from misuse of the Site, breach of these Terms, or infringement of third‑party rights.

13) Changes, suspension, and termination

• Ventonium may modify the Site, suspend or discontinue features, or restrict access at any time.

• These Terms may be updated. The “Last updated” date will change, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14) Governing law and jurisdiction

• These Terms are governed by Belgian law. The courts of the judicial district of Antwerp (Belgium) have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights that may apply.

15) Miscellaneous

• Severability: If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

• No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver.

• Entire agreement: These Terms, together with referenced policies, constitute the entire agreement regarding Site use.
